Each item contributes its score times its weight. The weighted grade is sum(score x weight) / sum(weight). Because it divides by the total weight, the weights do not need to add up to 100%; they just set how much each item counts relative to the others.

You enter a score and a weight per item (the name is optional). The tool returns the weighted grade and the total weight. Scores and weights can be any positive numbers; percentages are the most common.

Add a row per item and remove any you do not need. Rows without a score or a positive weight are skipped, so you can build the list gradually. The total weight lets you check whether your categories add up.

A common mistake is entering points instead of a percentage score while mixing with percentage weights, or forgetting an item so the total weight is off. The tool does not drop lowest scores or apply curves. Schools use different grading scales, weightings, and rounding rules, so treat the result as an educational estimate and confirm it against your course syllabus or school policy.

Do the weights need to add up to 100%?

No. The tool divides by the total weight, so any weights work. The total weight is shown so you can check it.

What can an item be?

Anything graded: a single assignment, a quiz, an exam, or a whole category like homework.

Can I use points instead of percentages?

Yes, as long as you are consistent. Mixing raw points and percentages in the same list will skew the result.

Does it drop the lowest score?

No. It uses every item you enter. Remove a row if you want to exclude it.

Is my data saved?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you enter is stored.
