Each component contributes its score times its weight. The semester grade is sum(score x weight) / sum(weight). When the weights total 100%, this is a straight weighted average of the components.

You enter a name, a score, and a weight per component. The tool returns the semester grade and the total weight. It assumes each component’s score already reflects everything inside it (for example, the average of all quizzes).

Use the pre-filled components or replace them. Leave a component blank while you wait for a grade; it is skipped until both its score and weight are filled. Watch the total weight to make sure it adds up to 100% for a full grade.

A common mistake is weights that do not sum to 100%, or entering a single quiz score for a whole category. The tool does not drop lowest scores, apply a curve, or round to a letter grade. Schools use different grading scales, weightings, and rounding rules, so treat the result as an educational estimate and confirm it against your course syllabus or school policy.
