The final is one weighted piece of the course. If w is the final’s weight as a fraction, the rest of the course counts for (1 - w). Required final = (desired - current x (1 - w)) / w. Dividing by a small weight makes the required score rise quickly.

Schools use different grading scales, weightings, and rounding rules, so treat the result as an educational estimate and confirm it against your course syllabus or school policy.

What does the final exam weight mean?

It is the share of your overall course grade that the final is worth, as a percentage. A final worth 40% means the rest of the course counts for 60%.

Why is the required score above 100%?

It means the target is not reachable from the final alone, because the exam is not weighted heavily enough to close the gap.

What if it shows a negative number?

A negative required score means you have already secured your target grade regardless of the final.

Does it account for curves or extra credit?

No. It assumes a straightforward weighted grade. Curves, dropped scores, and extra credit are not included.

Is my data saved?
