A vocabulary worksheet generator for new immigrants learning Hebrew as a second language. Pick an everyday topic (school, family, food, shopping, and more), a practice level, and a word count, and the tool builds a ready-to-print sheet: a word bank, a matching exercise between word and meaning, sentence fill-ins, and free writing, with a teacher answer key. Every word comes with a simple explanation in plain Hebrew, not a translation, so the sheet works for a multilingual classroom too. This tool is for teachers, parents, and tutors, and it is a practice aid, not official Ministry of Education material. Everything is built in your browser, no sign-up, nothing saved.

When is this useful?

  • A vocabulary lesson on a specific topicA teacher builds a sheet on "shopping" or "school" to match the current unit.
  • Independent practice at homeA learner works through the word bank and exercises alone, then checks answers against the teacher key.
  • A multilingual classroomBecause each word gets a plain-Hebrew explanation instead of a translation, the same sheet works regardless of a student's first language.
  • Quick review before a quizA tutor generates a short sheet on a topic already covered, for a fast pre-quiz review.
03

Examples

  • School, beginnerA short word list with words like teacher, classroom, and notebook, with a simple matching exercise.
  • Shopping, basicWords like price, discount, and receipt, with fill-in sentences about a shopping scene.
  • Family, intermediateA fuller word bank with a free-writing exercise asking the learner to describe their own family.
04

Tips for a better result

  • Start with matching before writingFor lower levels, turning off free writing and keeping just matching and fill-in keeps the sheet approachable.
  • Use the plain-Hebrew explanations as reading practice tooReading the word meanings aloud is itself useful reading practice, not just a reference.
  • Generate a few sheets"New sheet" brings a different word set for the same topic, so you can repeat the practice without repeating the exact same sheet.
  • Pair with the level-practice sheetIf you're not sure which level fits, the level-practice generator gives an informal starting point.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this for?

New immigrant students learning Hebrew vocabulary, and the teachers, tutors, or parents building practice material for them.

Are the word meanings translated into English?

No — by design, each word gets a simple explanation in plain Hebrew, not a translation, so the same sheet works in a multilingual classroom.

Can I turn off an exercise type?

Yes. Matching, fill-in, and writing can each be turned on or off independently, so the sheet matches the level and time you have.

Where does the answer key appear?

Turn on the teacher-key option and it appears at the end of the sheet, with answers for matching and fill-in.

Do I need to enter personal information?

No. There's no sign-up and no need for a name or details. Everything is built in your browser, and the name line on the sheet is meant to be filled in by hand after printing.
