Formula and how the calculation works

This is a flat-rate, cliff-edge calculation, not a marginal bracket system like income tax. If the consideration is below CI$2,000,000, the duty is consideration × 7.5%. If the consideration is CI$2,000,000 or more, the duty is the full consideration × 10%.

Current rates, threshold, and official source

The Government of the Cayman Islands (gov.ky) passed legislation as part of the 2026-2027 Budget increasing stamp duty from 7.5% to 10% on the conveyance or transfer of developed or undeveloped property where the consideration is CI$2,000,000 or more, effective 1 January 2026. This tool applies the standard 7.5% rate below that threshold. Current as of 2026. Tooleem is not affiliated with the Government of the Cayman Islands.

What is the stamp duty rate in the Cayman Islands?
