Each person's tip and tax share is calculated in proportion to their share of the subtotal. If your order is 40% of the total bill, you pay 40% of the tip and 40% of the tax — not an equal split regardless of what you ordered. This matches how most people think a group bill should be shared when orders are uneven.

Enter an order amount above 0 for each person, plus a tip percentage and an optional tax percentage (both 0 or more). The calculator returns each person's subtotal, tip share, tax share, and total, along with the grand subtotal, tip, tax, and total for the whole bill.

How is the tip and tax split between people?

Proportionally to what each person ordered. If your order is 30% of the total bill, you pay 30% of the tip and 30% of the tax, rather than an equal share regardless of what you ordered.

What if two people ordered the same amount?

Then their tip and tax shares (and totals) will be equal, since the proportional split naturally becomes an even split when the orders are equal.

Can I add or remove people?

Yes. Use "Add person" for more rows, or the remove button next to any row (you need at least one person).

Is tax required?

No. Leave it at 0% if tax does not apply or is not relevant to your split.

Is my data saved?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
