Rotate PDF
Rotate PDF pages by 90°, 180°, or 270°, for the whole file or a page range. Runs in your browser.
The file is processed in your browser only and is never sent to a server.
This tool rotates pages in a PDF to fix their orientation. You upload a file, choose a rotation angle (90°, 180°, or 270°), and decide whether to rotate every page or just a selected range. You get a corrected PDF to download, and the rotation is saved into the file permanently. It is useful for scans that came out upside down or sideways. All processing happens in your browser: the file is never uploaded to a server, there is no sign-up, and there are no watermarks.
How to use this tool
- 01Upload a PDFDrag in or select a PDF file. The tool shows how many pages it has.
- 02Choose angle and scopePick 90°, 180°, or 270°, and decide whether to rotate all pages or a selected range.
- 03Rotate and downloadClick rotate and get a corrected PDF ready to download, with the rotation saved in.
When is this useful?
- Upside-down scanScanned a page and it came out upside down? A 180° rotation puts it back the right way.
- Sideways pageA page captured in landscape instead of portrait is fixed with a 90° or 270° turn.
- Fix individual pagesIf only some pages are rotated, rotate a selected range and leave the rest untouched.
- Save the rotation permanentlyUnlike a viewer’s temporary rotate, the new file keeps the orientation everywhere it opens.
Examples
- All pages 90°Choose 90° and all pages, and the whole file turns a quarter turn clockwise.
- Full flipChoose 180° to flip pages that came out completely upside down.
- A selected rangeChoose a range like 2-4 and an angle to rotate only those pages.
Tips for a better result
- Rotation is cumulativeThe rotation adds to the page’s existing orientation. If a page is already rotated, the angle stacks on top.
- 90 vs. 27090° turns clockwise, 270° turns counter-clockwise. If it comes out the wrong way, try the other angle.
- Everything stays localYou can rotate sensitive documents too: the file never leaves your device.
What the tool does
The tool changes the display angle of the PDF pages. It uses the pdf-lib library, which runs in your browser, updates the rotation of the selected pages, and saves a new PDF. The content itself is preserved; only the display orientation changes. There is no upload to a server.
All pages or a range
You can rotate the whole file in one click, or choose a page range (like 1-3,7) and rotate only that. This makes it easy to fix a scan where only some pages are upside down.
Rotate vs. reorganizing pages
Use Rotate PDF to change page orientation while keeping the page order. If you instead need to reorder, remove, or extract pages, that is a different job: Delete PDF Pages removes pages, and Split PDF extracts a chosen subset into a new file.
Privacy
All rotation happens on your device only. The file is not sent to a server, nothing is stored on our side, and no sign-up is required.
Frequently asked questions
Is the file uploaded to a server?
No. The rotation runs in your browser only. The file does not go to the internet and is not stored on our side.
Can I rotate only some of the pages?
Yes. Choose "selected range" and enter which pages to rotate, for example 1-3,7.
What is the difference between 90 and 270 degrees?
90° turns clockwise, 270° turns counter-clockwise, and 180° flips the page.
Is the file quality affected?
No. Rotation changes only the display orientation of the pages, and the content is preserved as is.
Can I rotate an encrypted PDF?
A password-protected PDF may not load. It is best to remove the protection from the source first.
