A chronological list of every Jewish holiday and observance in 2027 — Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, Passover, Shavuot, Chanukah, Tu BiShvat, Purim, Lag BaOmer, and the year's minor fast days. Each entry shows the Gregorian and Hebrew date, the holiday's type (Yom Tov, Chol HaMoed, holiday, or fast), and the Israel/Diaspora difference where one exists. This list answers "when are the holidays in 2027" — for a full day-by-day calendar with Rosh Chodesh and Shabbat, there's a separate tool: Jewish Calendar 2027.

Examples

  • Finding the next holidayThe list is in chronological order, so you can see at a glance what holiday comes next and exactly when.
  • Holiday typeEvery row clearly states whether it is Yom Tov, Chol HaMoed, a holiday (like Chanukah or Purim), or a fast day — never flattened into one generic label.
  • Israel vs. DiasporaShemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, for example: one day in Israel, two days in the Diaspora. The list notes the difference on every relevant row.
03

What holidays are included

The six major holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, Passover, Shavuot) are shown with stronger emphasis. Chanukah, Tu BiShvat, Purim, and Lag BaOmer are also included — real, widely marked days, but not Yom Tov in the halachic sense (no melacha restriction applies).

04

Fast days

Four of the five minor fast days in 2027 are listed: Tzom Gedaliah, Ta'anit Esther, 17 Tammuz, and Tisha B'Av — including their actual observed date, even in a year where Shabbat pushes one off its usual day. Asara B'Tevet isn't listed: this particular year, it lands right at the civil-year boundary and doesn't fall within 2027 itself, in either 2026 or 2028. That's a real fact of the Hebrew calendar for this year, not an omission.

05

Israel vs. Diaspora differences

Sukkot and Passover open and close with one Yom Tov day in Israel and two in the Diaspora (with Chol HaMoed between them); Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah and Shavuot last one day in Israel and two in the Diaspora. Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and every fast day are identical everywhere.

06

Exact times for your location

This list shows dates only, not times. For candle lighting and the exact holiday start/end time based on your location, there's a dedicated tool: Jewish Holiday Times. For an ordinary Shabbat, there's a matching tool: Shabbat Times.
