The calculator takes the difference between your target date/time and the current time, then breaks that difference down into whole days, hours, minutes, and seconds. It updates automatically once per second using your device's local clock and time zone.

Enter any valid date and time, in the past or future. Once the target time arrives, the countdown switches to a "time's up" message. The countdown uses your browser's local time zone — if you share a countdown with someone in a different time zone, the target date and time should be communicated clearly, since this tool does not adjust for time zone differences.

Does the countdown update automatically?

Yes. Once a target date and time are set, it updates every second without needing to refresh the page.

What happens when the countdown reaches zero?

The display switches to a "time's up" message, along with your event name if you entered one.

Does this account for time zones?

The countdown uses your device's local time zone. If you are coordinating an event across time zones, make sure everyone knows which time zone the target date and time refer to.

Can I count down to a date in the past?

You can enter a past date, but the countdown will immediately show the "time's up" state, since the target has already passed.

Is my data saved?

No. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent to a server or shared.
